about jo
A country gal at heart, Jo was raised around Australia’s Snowy Mountains. She moved to Eastern Oz with her family. Leaving home at 20, Jo headed to Sydney.
Life pushed firmly in her twenties. Jo responded to its call, embarking on a lifelong adventure into the psychology and embodiment of love through the human body and spirit.
The stillness and devotion of a Rinpoche, a Zen sensei, Buddhist nuns and monks, tantric and hatha Yoga Masters, and Michaela Boehm, taught Jo how receptivity isn’t just soft, it’s an effortless invitation to magnetise rather than push.
Jo is a weaver of stories, a seeker of truths, and a companion to the wild and wondrous. Her journey has intertwined with an eclectic tapestry of other souls: embodiment and relationship sages, breastfeeding mothers, Swazi tribeswomen, a Balinese High Priestess, scientists, movie stars, Malawian witchdoctors, Persian bellydancers, and children—both young and young at heart.
She’s stood spellbound beneath a waning full moon in the highlands of Anoch Mor, locked eyes with farting Ugandan gorillas as they stripped nettles, and marvelled at Algonquin moose licking salt by the roadside. Like you, Jo has tasted the spectrum of existence—beauty and heartbreak, joy and loss, death and exquisite pleasure.
Guided by Arnhemland and Bundjalung Nation Elders, she’s walked ancient country, learning the secrets of bush medicine and Indigenous women’s lore. Stepping into the Bundjalung women's circle, as an adult, smoke curling off eucalyptus, Elder hands pressing earth-knowledge straight into her palms, then crossed salt-water lines for Arnhem Land teachings that rewired her pulse.
From there, every guide folds into her postgraduate craft: Clinical Sexology, embodied counselling, and regulated care. Her life has been shaped by love and letting go—she married and parted ways with a British-American photographer, raising a radiant daughter.
Jo’s insatiable curiosity has led her to devour books, films, and conversations, exploring human anatomy, physiology, and the unseen forces that pulse through our lives. With a background in Psychology and a Professional Master’s in Sex Education, Sex and Couple Therapy, and Clinical Sexology from Newcastle and Curtin Universities, she is a counsellor, embodiment teacher, energy healer, and clinical sexologist. Jo is also the Co-Founder of The Global Women’s Wellness Conference Series.
Her wisdom has illuminated pages and airwaves in Elephant, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The New Zealand Herald, Lizzie Turner Presents and Bali Modern Women magazine.
Jo’s 35 years of expertise offer fluency in how land, sexuality, nervous system, hormones and lineage breathe together.
She’s plain spoken - compassion that listens, wisdom infused from science to spirit.
She speaks it out now, low and steady, like she's guiding you home.
