about jo

A country gal at heart, Jo was raised around Australia’s Snowy Mountains. She moved to Eastern Oz with her family. Leaving home at 20, Jo headed to Sydney. Life pushed firmly in her twenties. Jo responded to its call, embarking on a lifelong adventure into the psychology and embodiment of love through the human body and spirit.

Jo has shared company with Tibetan Rinpoche, Zen Sensei, Buddhist Nuns, Hatha and Tantric Yoga Masters, embodiement and relationship experts, road scholars, breastfeeding mums under volcanoes, university academics, dancing Swaziland tribeswomen, a Balinese High Priestess, scientists, homeless folk, movie stars, Malawian witchdoctors, Persian bellydancers, Wall Street traders, big game hunters, evangelists, kids and kids at heart around riverbeds, under the stars and on the dancefloor.

She’s been gobsmacked by a waning full moon in the Scottish morninglight of Anoch Mor, farting Ugandan Gorillas staring at her while stripping nettle and roadside salt licking Algonquin moose.

Like you, she has experienced beauty, death, joy, loss, heartbreak, and pleasure.

Jo has walked country with Arnhemland and Bundjalung Nation Elders. She has learnt some things about bush medicine and traditional Indigenous women’s lore.

Jo married and divorced a British-American photographer, with whom she co-raised a beautiful daughter.

She has read, watched, and listened to a great deal, learning about human anatomy and physiology, collaborating with the unseen forces at work in our lives, and studying psychology and Sexology at Newcastle and Curtin Universities in Australia. Jo acquired her Professional Master’s in Sex Education, Sex and Couple Therapy and Clinical Sexology.

The more Jo learns, the less she reckons she knows. What she does understand is that we are all worthy of love and belonging.
